FAQs

Keep Your Pipe Clean & Dry

After each use, allow your pipe to cool completely before cleaning or handling it. Once cool, gently remove any loose ash or tobacco from the bowl. Avoid knocking the pipe against hard surfaces, as this can damage the rim or finish.

Use a clean pipe cleaner to gently clear the stem and airway. Pipe cleaners should be used dry or with minimal moisture.

Resting your pipe

Avoid smoking your pipe repeatedly without allowing it time to cool and rest. Giving the timber time to cool between uses helps prevent excessive heat build-up and allows the pipe to remain in good condition. If you have multiple pipes, rotating between them is an excellent way to give each pipe adequate resting time.

Caring for the Timber

Your pipe is made from a natural material, so small variations in grain, colour and texture are part of its character.

Keep your pipe away from prolonged exposure to:

  • Direct sunlight

  • Excessive heat

  • Very dry or very humid conditions

  • Water and moisture

  • Never leave your pipe in a hot car or near a heater.

Maintaining the finish

Over time, handling and use will naturally change the appearance of the timber. This is part of the journey of an artisan-made pipe. If the surface becomes dusty, gently buff it with a soft, dry cloth.

Do not use furniture polish, mineral oils, cooking oils or other products unless they have been specifically recommended for the particular finish used on your pipe - we recommend Carnauba wax only.
