Founded and handcrafted by artisan maker Jeremiah Mierke, Bullfrog Pipes began with a simple question: Could he make a pipe for a friend?

With a lifelong passion for working with timber, Jeremiah’s journey into pipe making was a natural progression. He has been surrounded by creativity and craftsmanship from a young age, drawing inspiration from his grandfather, a skilled furniture maker, and an artistic family lineage that fostered his love of working with natural materials.

Jeremiah has been crafting pipes for more than 16 years, continually refining his skills and developing his own distinctive style.

At the end of 2017, Jeremiah created a new pipe for himself. A friend saw it and asked if he could also have one made for him. Before long, that request turned into several more, and Jeremiah was encouraged to make a small number of pipes for others.

By 2018, Bullfrog Pipes had truly begun to take shape. Jeremiah found himself making a pipe every week or two, and by the end of that first year, he had handcrafted over 35 pipes.

Within a year, Jeremiah became particularly recognised for his gumnut shaped pipe. Inspired by the forward cant of the Devil-Anse Pipe combined with the gumnut seed pod shape found on Australia's native eucalyptus trees.

Inspired by the rugged beauty of the Australian landscape and the organic shapes found in native eucalyptus trees, the Gumnut Pipe captures Jeremiah's approach to craftsmanship: natural materials, individuality, and handmade character in every piece.

Every Bullfrog Pipe carries with it more than 16 years of experience, a deep respect for timber, and the hands-on craftsmanship of its maker.
